NEW RELEASE: THE EAGLE'S WOMAN - PG Historical Romance by Miriam Newman

On August 2, DCL Publications released The Eagle's Woman, Book I of a series about the Vikings in Ireland entitled "The Eagle."

BLURB: The year is 856 A.D. In western Eire, Maeve--the daughter of simple fisher folk--is preparing for her betrothal to the village blacksmith. Their remote location has shielded them from raids which have been so devastating elsewhere in their land. But that is about to change.

Ari Bjornsson, son of an impoverished, dying Viking chieftain, raids for booty and slaves in order to feed his people. He is a heathen, a murderer, and it is a sin for any Christian woman to love him.

That is about to change, too.

Author Biography:

Fantasy poetry driven by myths and legends has been Miriam's passion for as long as she can remember. She is published in poetry and romance across various sub-genres: contemporary, fantasy, science fiction and historical. She nurtures her muse with many trips to Ireland, but otherwise resides these days in rural Pennsylvania with a "motley crew" of rescue animals.

  1. This latest triumph of Miriam Newman is a must-read for all lovers of Viking lore, Dark Ages Ireland and above all, romance.

Like Maeve, I am seduced by Ari's quiet strength and his compassion for his people. And Maeve herself is a force to reckon with--an Irish spitfire who will try to bring even this warrior to his knees.

I congratulate the author on a superb novel and look forward to a sequel.

  2. Thanks, Erin. I'm panting to get to the sequel, believe me.
